Today we discussed the first home work assignment given last week on the novel Red Queen. The aim was to ensure that students understood why they got the mark they did in the assignment, and to give those who are not satisfied with their mark the tools and opportunity to better their assignment grade.

We read through chapters 4 - 6 of the novel the Red Queen today and discussed particular parts of the text. Students were given a home work assignment consisting of questions to total 20 marks. This assignment becomes due on Thursday coming. As your child works through the assignment do keep in mind that we are looking for higher order learning outcomes in their writing, like analysis, synthesis and evaluation skills.

Students were also given four (4) questions on chapter one (1) of their Social Studies text "Our Canada" based on reading they did over past long weekend. They were also given a reading assignment consisting of chapter two (2) of their text 'Our Canada'. Both assignments are due next Monday, September 12, 2016.
