Assignment on the American Revolution.
Title: Impact of the American Revolution on British Loyalist
Background Information:
The British Loyalist fled political, racial and religious persecution during the American war of independence/American Revolution. However, they faced many challenges during migration, and more challenges on reaching Canada; including challenges of co-existence with the Canadiens.
Assignment:
Many British Loyalist fled the 13 Colonies as a result of the American war of independence. Describe some of the challenges faced by these British Loyalist because of relocating and assess the response of the British Government to their petitions.
Focus:
Consider the following challenges the loyalist faced:
They left all of their possessions behind: had to start over
They were exposure to the elements and starvation in some cases
Black loyalist, Haudenosaunee, and Mennonites faced discrimination
